Travel on a steam train for a day! The historic train sets off from Cedar Park in the morning and has a few hour layover at the small Hill Country town of Burnet. In addition to scheduled days out, there are special events like murder mystery trips and days out with Thomas the Tank Engine.
Spelunking! There are caves in Cedar Park, and the Discovery Well Cave Preserve has a wealth of information about local flora and fauna.
Visit the site of the Cedar Park Event Center. This will be far more fun when construction finishes in 2010. For now you can see the event center in progress at 183A and New Hope Road.
Visit Lake Travis – there are many attractions on, off and in the water at Lake Travis – formed by the dam across the Colorado River. Volente Beach has a water park that is well worth the short drive from Cedar Park.

Construction starts across the US are significantly down, yet Cedar Park is still growing in population. Families are drawn by the great schools, the newer homes and the low crime rates, and are soon going to be short of options.
