  • Housing Shortage in Cedar Park?

Construction starts across the US are significantly down, yet Cedar Park is still growing in population. Families are drawn by the great schools, the newer homes and the low crime rates, and are soon going to be short of options.

With the historically low interest rates we have right now we might expect a move from rent to buy, especially considering the first time home buyers tax credit available for homes closed by the end of November 2009.

  • Are There Any Green Homes in Cedar Park?

Posted on April 8th, 2009 admin No comments

Cedar Park TX is a fast growing city which borders on the Northwest edge of Austin. While Austin is renowned for it’s Green Building Program, it’s hard to find a truly green home in it’s neighbor.

There are several green home rating schemes which could be adopted for a Cedar Park home seller:

    1. ENERGY STAR program
    2. National Association of Homebuilders program
    3. LEED
    4. Environments For Living

One reason that none of these are being heavily marketed to Cedar Park buyers might be that they aren’t as keen.

Another is that many of the homes in Cedar Park are less than 8 years old, and so the more modern building codes mean that homes are greener by default (thicker insulation, double paned windows, more efficient HVAC).

So the home buyer in Cedar Park gets a more energy efficient home as the home is statistically newer.
